About us

Welcome to Villa Guillaumette. You will find our beautiful quiet village in Châteauneuf-les-Bains, where we came to live in the summer of 2017. Our family consists of: Cindy and Peter (your hostess and host) and daughter Anouk. And of course not forgetting our pets: Bep and Puk our Frisian stabij's, Poekie the cat, a couple of chickens and a rooster. You can read about our adventure on our blog.

Villa Guillaumette was built in the early 20th century, around 1910. The gite next to the house used to be the dance hall of the village and was built around 1925.

Châteauneuf-les-Bains used to be a spa town. Over the years it has fallen a bit into decline, but no less pleasing. Hard work is being done by the municipality and the residents to make the village completely gorgeous again. The area is beautifully green and because the village is about 300 meters high (a valley) you have a splendid view of the mountains and hills.

In the village there is a spa where many people get a cure because of rheumatic complaints, there are also several natural sources in the park near the thermal baths. People use the well during a picnic or walk, the water of 35 degrees is very comfortable. The village is located by the Sioule, with a length of approximately 150 km, the cleanest river in France.
